Club Logo and Branding
The new identity - one that resulted from a brand visioning process which engaged a wide cross section of participants representing the founding clubs of Dunbar, Kerrisdale and PointGrey -- represents the desire of the Vancouver United FC membership to truly impact the lives of children and youth through the positive and character building aspects of playing sport ingeneral and soccer in particular. Vancouver United FC will stand for a club in the truest sense of the word, one which transcends the playing field of soccer into all aspects of sportsmanship, team play and friendship, building a positive, dynamic identity for the next generation of young Canadians.
Direction was provided in a visioning workshop to have the new unified club represent itself beyond its geographic community and establish an identity that illustrates the largemembership and mandate so that it can play a leadership role in the soccer landscape in and for British Columbia.
The large membership spans not only the core neighbourhoods of Dunbar, Kerrisdale and Point Grey, but also encompasses Kitsilano, Fairview Slopes, Granville Island, the West Broadwaycorridor and into downtown Vancouver.
The Board of Directors of Vancouver United FC is formalizing a vision centered around a prototype community-based soccer development system built on best-of-class programs forplayers, coaches and referees.The Board saw an opportunity to embrace the changing landscape for the sport in Vancouver, throughout British Columbia and throughout the PacificNorthwest.
