VanU Plus Program Information

The program description for the 2019-20 VanU Plus Program is as follows:

VanU FC Metro and Div 1 teams participate in this program. Fees will be confirmed soon but will be similar to the past season. Criteria for applying for and being awarded Metro teams is currently being determined by the VYSA's Metro Oversight Commitee. VUFC will ensure all aspects of it's Metro program adhere to VYSA policy in this area. If this means some parts of the VanU Plus program need to change to ensure compatibility we will do that and communicate the change(s).

 

U11 and U12 Div 1 Boys and Girls
Program Fee: TBA

• Program runs: April 2019 to March 2020.
• Spring training component: Training once per week for 8-9 weeks collectively with a staff coach; any additional training is optional, including VanU FC Spring Academy, to respect the benefits and desire of playing other sports at this age.
• Boys teams will train on Tuesdays and girls teams will train on Thursdays in the spring.
• Spring game component: Optional participation in Cascadia Spring League. Other games and tournaments are optional.
• Fall/Winter training: Training three times per week. Training twice per week with staff coach support at 30 sessions (10 working with single team exclusively; 20 collectively with another Gold Plus team); Academy in the Fall and Winter with training Kit is included in registration fee and attendance is mandatory. Ten other training sessions to be run by parent coaches. Game support from staff coaches at two games early in the season. Note that Academy is on Mondays and the Gold Plus boys teams train on Tuesdays and Thursdays while the girls train on Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Additional tournaments are to be decided by the team themselves. Teams will need to cover the costs for any tournaments.
• A user pay pre-season training camp the last week of August will be offered but will be optional.

 

U13 Boys and Girls Metro and Div 1 Teams
Program fee: TBA

• Program runs: April 2019 to completion of Cup and League play in 2020.
• Spring training component: Training once per week for 8-10 weeks collectively with a staff coach; any additional training is optional to respect the benefits and desire of playing other sports at this age.
• Boys teams will train on Tuesdays and girls teams will train on Thursdays in the spring.
• Spring game component: Metro teams will be entered in the Cascadia Spring League against other top clubs in the Lower Mainland. This will be inclued in the registration fee. Other games and tournaments are optional for both Metro and Div 1 teams.
• Fall/Winter training: Training twice per week with VanU FC team support (VTS) at eight training sessions and four games for both Metro and Div 1; Academy in the Fall is mandatory and included in the registration fee for Metro teams; optional for Div 1.  Academy kit is included in registration fee for Metro team players. Academy in the Winter is optional. 
• Cup play: Metro teams are automatically in Coastal A Cup.  A decision will be made in October whether to put U13 and older Div 1 teams in the Coastal A or B Cup. Coastal B is intended for Div 1 teams.
• A user pay pre-season training camp the last week of August will be offered but will be optional.

 

U14-18 Boys and Girls Metro and Div 1
Program fee: TBA

• Program runs: April 2019 to March 2020.
• Spring training component: Optional training once per week in spring with team coach.
• Spring game component: Teams have the option to enter the Cascadia Spring League against other top clubs in the Lower Mainland. Entry in the Umbro Challenge Cup on the May long weekend in South Surrey is also optional as are other games and tournaments.
• Fall/Winter training: Training twice per week with VanU FC team support (VTS) at eight training sessions and four games; Academy in the Fall and Winter is optional.
• Tournaments are to be decided by the team themselves. The team must cover any excess tournament fees.
•  Cup play: Metro teams are automatically in Coastal A Cup.  A decision will be made in October whether to put U13 and older Div 1 teams in the Coastal A or B Cup. Coastal B is intended for Div 1 teams.

 

Please note that VanU FC makes the best effort possible to make up sessions lost to field closures in the event of inclement weather but will not issue partial or whole refunds due to training sessions or games that could not be re-scheduled. The exception to this is that all players registered in Academy will receive pro-rated credits for Academy sessions lost to field closures. These credits can be used for future Academy sessions. Program details are subject to changes.
