Gold Plus Program Information

The program description for the 2018-19 VanU FC Gold Plus Program is as follows:

Please note that “Gold Plus” is a VUFC program and not a separate division. VanU FC Div 1 teams participate in this program. Fees will be confirmed soon but will be similar to the past season.

U11 and U12 Boys and Girls
Program Fee: To be determined by VUFC Board at next meeting

• Program runs: April 2018 to March 2019.
• Spring training component: Training once per week for 8-9 weeks collectively with a staff coach; any additional training is optional, including VanU FC Spring Academy, to respect the benefits and desire of playing other sports at this age.
• Spring game component: 5-9 exhibition games against other top clubs in the Lower Mainland plus entry in the Umbro Challenge Cup on the May long weekend in South Surrey. Other games and tournaments are optional.
• Fall/Winter training: Training three times per week. Training twice per week with staff coach support at 30 sessions (10 working with single team exclusively; 20 collectively with another Gold Plus team); Academy in the Fall and Winter is included in registration fee and attendance is mandatory. Ten other training sessions to be run by parent coaches. Game support from staff coaches at two games early in the season. Note that Academy is on Mondays and the Gold Plus boys teams train on Tuesdays and Thursdays while the girls train on Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Additional tournaments are to be decided by the team themselves. Every VanU FC has an $800 budget provided by the club to cover tournament fees. The Umbro Challenge Cup tournament fees will come out of this budget. Once this $800 has been exhausted, the team must cover any excess tournament fees.
