2024 Awards Night Wrap Up

The 2024 VanU Awards and Recognition night at the Hollywood Theatre was held earlier this month and was a roaring success. The accomplishments of teams and individuals were highlighted and our graduating class of players were celebrated during a special night for our club. The Hollywood Theatre, our incredible hosts, welcomed many VanU families who packed the place on this special occasion.

In addition to individual award winners, we also recognized teams that won their league title or the Coastal Cup.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this our biggest and best Awards Night yet!

We look forward to doing it all again next year!

Skill Centre update: Club Academy Series

We’re very happy to let our members know that we have been working with four other National Youth Club License / BCSPL Clubs to develop a competitive game outlet for the program through the new Club Academy Series. Starting in the fall some of our U8 to U10 Skill Centre players will have the opportunity to play a series of 8-12 games in addition to their VanU team games through the fall and winter. We will continue to offer additional games to some of our Skill Centre players through the VYSA U8 to U10 league as well.

Games for U11 to U13 Skill Centre games are also been looked at. We will have more details soon.

Congratulations

Our U17 Div 1 and U16 Div 1 boys team won their division in the Cascadia League earlier this month.

Join us in congratulating these teams on a great achievement!

Annual General Meeting Wrap Up

Thank you everyone who came out to our AGM on June 18th at Dunbar Community Centre. The evening featured important conversations about the present and future of our club, and was an opportunity for the board of directors and VanU families to engage in a way that will only benefit our club going forward.

Learn to Train Coaching Workshop

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Learn to Train coaching workshop this month, with a special shoutout going to the group of girls from our U17 and U18 teams.

Led by our Technical Director Gus Karvelis, the on-field session helped provide everyone with an understanding of what goes into being a VanU coach!

Keep an eye out for more opportunities to start your coaching career with VanU!
