Beach Blast
VanU FC presents the 2024 version of the Beach Soccer Blast at Spanish Banks Beach East in Vancouver. We are thrilled to host the 25th edition of this tournament on June 8th and 9th this year!
Beach soccer is spectacular. A soft sand surface allows players to try diving headers, bicycle kicks and spectacular tricks more freely. Sand soccer tends to be played more in the air than regular soccer, with quick flicks, juggling and volleying all becoming increasingly important in order to stay away from an unpredictable surface.
Beach Blast is played 5 on 5 (4 players + a keeper), two 14-minute halves, with substitutions on the fly. There are no offsides and kick-ins rather than throw-ins. Player don’t wear shoes, cleats or shinpads (but socks can be worn to protect feet). The field is smaller with smaller nets but a regulation soccer ball is used.
The VanU Beach Blast tournament will take place on June 8-9, 2024 at Spanish Banks East Beach. U-10, U-12, U-14, U16 and U-18 teams will be able to register in either recreational or competitive divisions soon.

Age Group Guidelines
Participants in youth divisions, must be UNDER (not equal to) the specified age as of December 31, 2024. For example: Under-16 players must be born in 2009 or later. In other words age groups are as per the 2023/2024 BC Soccer season. Birth date must be marked on the Roster form. Players are permitted to play up an age group if they so choose. Here are some specifics about each age group:
- U-10: Born 2015 and later
- U-12: Born 2014 and 2013
- U-14: Born 2012 and 2011
- U-16: Born 2010 and 2009
- U-18: Born 2007 and 2008
Registration Fee:
$375 CAN / team after April 1, 2024
Entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
