Following on from the PHO that was announced on Thursday at 3pm the province extended existing restrictions on  youth soccer until February 5th. The order permits us to continue skills training during practices under the Phase 1 Return to Play procedures as long as physical distancing is maintained (3 metres apart at all times). The requirement for no spectators also remains in effect unless it is required for medical reasons.

The Club’s goal in these uncertain times remains to continue to provide soccer programming to all our members through to the end of the season in a safe and fun environment. For this reason Van U has been working with permit holders who have agreed to allow the Club to use permits as long as the safe soccer protocols are followed and:

  • Participants maintain 3m throughout the session
  • No competition / games
  • No spectators
  • Continued max of 50 people within the facility
  • Hand sanitization will continue
All teams were offered a practice allocation for this past weekend (optional) and will all have a schedule assigned to them for weekend practices going forward through to the next PHO update. Our Technical Staff have been working to put together safe soccer drills for these sessions and will be providing these to team officials going forward as well as being on site to ensure all safe soccer protocols are followed.

We will provide further updates as we receive any additional information from the PHO over the coming weeks, with the next expected update being February 5th.

Again we thank you for your ongoing patience and support at this time.
