VanU Month of Giving

Every year, our club looks to help local organizations as part of our annual Month of Giving. Each November, we assist in either donating items or ask members to donate financially if they can. Each of the past two years we've collected over one thousand items as well as thousands of dollars to support these important community organizations.

This year we will be supporting the following organizations (please click on the links below to donate):

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank

Kidsport Vancouver

We will also be supporting Covenant House through their Hope for the Holidays initiative. Help fill a backpack with crucial supplies that will be given to youth in need in our community.

We'll be accepting drop offs of donations on the following dates:

Saturday November 8th at Chaldecott Park (by the water park) : 10:30am - Noon

Sunday November 9th at UBC Mini Field : 10am - 1pm

Saturday November 29th at Chaldecott Park : 10am - 12:30pm

Further dates will be posted on short notice depending on weather conditions during the month.

Meet Your VanU Coaches

Next up in our series highlighting the Technical Leads for our programs is our Academy Manager, Nick Perugini! Nick has been with VanU for well over a decade and is now in his second season overseeing our Academy program.

"I believe our Academy provides a great resource for our players and coaches to develop. For players; they get a chance to work on their touches, and get a high volume of contact time on the ball in both our Mondays development academy and Friday night shooting and finishing academy sessions. During my time working with the academy, we have been able to work with younger coaches in our club, giving them the ability to work with some of our more senior staff. It has been a great tool to open up a pathway for our own alumni and current youth players to give back to the VanU community they themselves grew up playing in." - Nick Perugini

Although the Fall season is already well underway, our Winter Academy is just around the corner!

"The Fall Academy season has gotten off to a great start and we're excited to continue with the positive momentum the program has built up. Winter details will be ready soon and our spring programming will be our biggest yet with the World Cup just around the corner!"

Keep your eyes peeled for information regarding registration for our Winter Academy and don't miss out on joining this fun and exciting program!
