About David Wood
Dr. David Wood is a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He is the Head of the Division of Cardiology and the Medical Director for the Cardiac Sciences Program at Vancouver Coastal Health. He is the inaugural Director of the UBC Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation – Centre d’Innovation Cardiovasculaire (CCI-CIC), a clinical research centre with 41 affiliated staff and more than 90 cardiovascular investigators in British Columbia. Dr. Wood is the Chief Medical Officer of Excision Medical and the Course Director for the annual CAIC-ACCI Summit and Vancouver Valve cardiovascular conferences. He works closely with multiple philanthropic and industry partners in British Columbia. David has coached 3 of his 4 daughters at VanU for over 10 years. He is currently co-coaching the U17 Div 1 Assassins and the U16 Div 1 Tsunami. He is excited to contribute to the VanU Board and is passionate about the future of youth soccer in British Columbia.
