VanU Check in Meeting

We want to be an accountable, responsive club that listens to what our members expect and want. We approach this in many ways. We have a dedicated Communications staff member, a new website with built in tools to solicit feedback and answer questions and we try to keep on top of our social media. We are also the only club in Vancouver with an office that members can come by and speak to someone in person if they feel that is best.

We want to add one ore layer to that though and offer our members the chance to come to what will be one of two annual VanU Check-in Meetings. This is an opportunity to hear staff talk about issues we feel are important to our members as well as ask any questions that you have or suggest things you would like to see.

Our first VanU Check-In is going to be Monday, September 30th at Dunbar Lawn Bowling Clubhouse from 6:30pm to 8pm. Our Executive Director Gregor Young will host the meeting along with Technical Director Gus Karvelis. Gregor is also the Chair for our District (Vancouver Youth Soccer Association) and is on the Board for the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL). He is also on the Cascadia Soccer League Board and several committees related to these bodies so the conversation can and likely will run from club questions through District and League issues.

Here are the topics we plan to cover at the meeting:

  • The registration process and how that affects scheduling
  • National Youth Club License - why it’s good for the whole club
  • State of soccer and traditional sports in general

There will also be plenty of time for a question and answer and for your suggestions on how we can make this club better. If you would like to submit a question in advance so staff can give a fuller, prepared answer please go here and fill out a very simple form that lets you do that.
